Welcome to the Office of the State Building Inspector’s home page. The Office of the State Building Inspector is part of the Division of Fire, Emergency and Building Services of the Connecticut Department of Public Safety. The Office of the State Building Inspector establishes and enforces building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and energy code requirements necessary to promote the health and safety of the people of Connecticut by reviewing, developing, adopting and administering the State Building Code. For a more detailed description of the regulations and laws, please refer to Connecticut General Statutes Chapter 541and Regulations of State Agencies Sections 29-262-1a through 29-262-11a.

Where to Obtain the 2005 State Building Code (This is a list of the current codes and where you can obtain the code books.) The actual codes are not found on this website. The actual codes can be obtained through the International Code Council. The amendments can be downloaded from this website.

The OSBI Code Enforcement Bulletin     NEW
